Air Conditioners can vary in different SEER ratings from 14 SEER to 28 SEER and soon beyond that. SEER stands for the seasonal energy efficiency rating. The higher the SEER rating the more efficient the unit is in cooling your home. An Air Conditioner comes in 1.5 to 5-ton sizes and needs to be sized to the efficiency and size of your home. Over-sizing or under-sizing an air conditioner can cause premature equipment failure and/or poor cooling performance.
